SUKAGluCan Glucanase
Technically speaking, g-amylase (also called glucan 1,4-a-glucosidase; amyloglucosidase; exo-1,4-a-glucosidase; glucoamylase; lysosomal a-glucosidase; 1,4-a-D-glucan glucohydrolase), in addition to cleaving the last a (1-4) glycosidic linkages at the nonreducing end of amylose and amylopectin, yielding glucose, a-amylase will cleave a(1-6) glycosidic linkages. Unlike the other forms of amylase, g-amylase is most efficient in acidic environments and has an optimum pH of 3. Polymeric b-glucans contains four b-D-glucopyranosyl units linked by a 1,3 bond and two consecutive 1,4 bonds as the major structural unit. Polymeric mixed glucans are present in varying amounts in virtually all cereal products (barley, rye, sorghum, oats and wheat). In the brewing industry, barley is a common carbohydrate adjunct. However, its use has caused problems due to the increased viscosity of the wort caused by the presence of a gummy, high molecular weight polymer of D-glucose containing beta-1-3 and beta-1-4 glycosidic linkages, i.e. barley beta-glucan. Cereals such as wheat, barley and rye are incorporated into animal feeds to provide a major source of energy. However, the presence of non-starch polysaccharides (NSP) causes high gut viscosity that interferes with digestion. The use of selected carbohydrases like b-glucanase to break down NSP can release nutrients (energy and protein) as well as reduce the viscosity of the gut contents to improve feed utilization.
Glucomylase has also found application in bread making. Glucomylase breaks down starch in flour into simple sugars. It is also used the manufacturing of clothing and dishwasher detergents to dissolve starches from fabrics and dishes. Sukahan (Weifang) Bio-Technology, Co., Inc. has provided this enzyme to these industries with excellent results for several years. We recommend that you try our high purity enzyme products for your business and operation.

WHAT IS SUKAGLUCAN? |
SUKAGluCan is a b-glucanase enzyme preparation obtained from the submerged fermentation of a high b-glucanamylase-producing microbial strains. SUKAGluCan can be used as processing aid in brewing, juice extraction, wine clarification, and also as animal feed supplement. The high level of b-1,3-1,4-glucanase allows it to break down glucans in poultry and swine diets containing high amounts of barley, wheat, rye, triticale, and other cereals. It is also used in the brewery to hydrolyze glucans which interfere with the clarification of wort and filtration of beer. SUKAGluCan can be used to break down glucans in poultry animal and swine diets containing high amounts of barley, wheat, rye, triticale, and certain cereals to improve feed utilization, optimize nutrient uptake and increase growth rate. The high thermal stability of microbial b-glucanases in SUKAGluCan enables brewers to adjust the mashing process, by using higher temperature and shorter mashing duration. b-glucanases may also be added at the fermenting or maturation stage to treat glucan hazes that give problems during the final beer filtration steps. The haze on brewers' products which is commercially inferior can be cleared and improving the product considerably. SUKAGluCan is available in powder preparation as SUKAGluCan PW 10 (with enzyme activity of 10,000 U/g). Unit Definition: The amount of enzyme needed to liberate 1 u/g glucose from b-glucan in one minute |
